To promote environmentally sound and efficient solid waste and recycling services within the Washington state regulatory system.
The Washington Refuse and Recycling Association (WRRA) is a statewide trade association representing Washington’s diverse and multifaceted solid waste handling industry, providing its members with representation before the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches of state government. WRRA is the oldest solid waste trade association in the western United States, having been formed in 1947.We represent your local curbside solid waste and recycling services companies. Our member companies provide services in every community throughout the state. They provide their services under state law, administered by the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission or by city contract.
WRRA Members provide universal curbside collection services for all residences and businesses. Residential services include garbage services statewide, and in most communities, the collection of recyclables and organics as well. Our members also provide a wide range of commercial recycling services to their communities. WRRA is committed to working with state and local elected officials, regulators and communities to promote an environmentally and economically sustainable industry. Our state should demand it, our local communities should seek it, and WRRA Member Companies pledge to work with you and each other to make it happen.
RSVP for WRRA's 2017 Legislative Reception! Wednesday, February 22nd, in Cherberg conference rooms A,B, and C at the Capitol Campus.
